I thought I would post about my exact process for making good money with blogging. Today I’m just going to talk about blogging to make money with affiliate sales. Primarily I concentrate on the Amazon Affiliate Program. Tomorrow, I will discuss the different types of blogging and how they make money. This isn’t the only way, and I use a couple of different models, but this is my favorite and easiest way to do it.
k, it’s not complicated. So this is how it goes.
Step One: Find the product at Amazon I might be interested in building a blog around. Nothing too broad. Very specific works, but also something a little broader also works. You can put more products on a site that is broader based.
Step Two: I use Micro Niche Finder to locate the right keywords. Something with a green light, and lower than 25. (You can see how this works by clicking here to see the Micro Niche Finder in action. *** Note: You can get Micro Niche Finder for a cheaper price if you use your own Clickbank affiliate link. You will have to wait for a check, but you still get the discount that would normally go to the affiliate.
Step Three: I look for a domain name with a good keyword. Something upwards of 2,500 in organic traffic using your Micro Niche Finder. Although I have used keywords as low as 500. (yep, that hyper link is my affiliate link, but be smart! Use your own Clickbank affiliate link and save yourself some money.)
Step Four: Set up your site. I have a WHM panel hosting that I can set up many, many domains myself. These are usually used for reselling hosting, but I just use it for myself. I have my account at MyCoHost.net. That is not an affiliate Program, he doesn’t have one! You can also use Hostgators but order the Reseller Program. It’s cheaper but I like MyCoHost.net better simply because he gives me personal customer service. You will pay about $26 to $40 and be able to put up between 25 and 50 blogs depending on how much is on each blog. MUCH cheaper than hosting AND gives you greater flexibility.
Step Five: Set up your hosting. Then set up your Wordpress Blog using Fantastico in your Cpanel. It’s very easy, just click, click, click. Last put in your plugins, activate them.
Step Six: Create your theme for your Wordpress blog. I use Artisteer found here.
I likes creating my own themes because I can make them look unique and make them do what I want them to do for the blog I am setting up. Artisteer if very easy to use.
However, you can find free themes online. I will be creating some soon.
Step Seven: Start putting in content about the products at Amazon. You can see three of my examples here:
By the way, put those keywords in Google and you will see my sites are on the first page. All of my keyword sites are on the first page of Google. All of them! How do I do that? Here is how.
Step Eight: Start a Twitter account. Activate my Twitter Plugins.
*Read my post here about how to Twitter for traffic.
* Read my post here about which plugins you should use.
Step Nine: Build quality backlinks. Usually you will only need about 75 for a good keyword domain. If it’s a bit more competitive, do a few more.
I hired a guy quite awhile back that now does this for me. As of today, I’m offering this service to you. Normally, Twitter and Backlinks will get my sites on the first page of Google.
If I have a really competitive keyword and I decide I just have to use it (not always smart) , I will use Unique Article Wizard. However, I don’t just let my subscription renew every month. I build a base of articles for the sites that need a little extra push and then pay for UAW for one month and put them all in. I set the pace at 30 to 50 submissions a day. Then cancel my subscription when it’s complete and renew later if I need it again.
However, about 85% of my sites rank with just Twitter and backlinks.
If you want to order backlinks click here. You get unbelievably high quality links for a super great price. Check around and you will agree. Most places charge upwards of $1 a link. Here our plans start at:
$35 for 75 Submissions, but you get to do 2 URLs with 2 corresponding keywords for a total of 150 backlinks. That insane! Click here to see the rest of our pricing.
Step Ten: Wash, Rinse, REPEAT. Volume is the key for this type of blogging to make any real money.
Almost everyone online trying to promote a blog knows to write articles as part of their promotional efforts. The question is, do you know what you are doing when you write an article? Is your purpose to gain branding and expertise or is it simply to build backlinks? It makes a difference, and you really should understand what your primary motivation is when you begin article marketing.
If you sell a service, or want to build a community type website around a particular theme where you are the expert, then you want to do more than just build backlinks. You also want to brand both yourself and your website as an expert in your field. This means that you need to write articles with your voice and distribute them to more than just the article directories. In this case, you want to build relationships with editors of online newsletters with the goal of getting some your articles published in them. This is a very powerful approach and can build business very quickly.
If I heard you sigh, take heart. It’s not time to shop, it’s time to get your Christmas Affiliate Blogs ready to go. Actually, even now, we are a bit late. Yes, some people are already shopping for Christmas.
So, if your not an affiliate for Amazon, apply. Then start doing your keyword research, and get busy putting up those product sites. Review sites work the best, then link them through your Amazon affiliate link. Simple sites work the best. Four to eight pages, then move on to another blog. These are so easy to do, and if you have purchased your domain names around a keyword phrase that is not competitive, then you should be able to rank easily on the first page of Google for that keyword.
