I admit it, I’m partial to WordPress. Okay, not just partial…completely crazy for WordPress. There are so many great plugins available for WordPress that it makes running your site easier and pulls traffic more effectively. This is my list of “Must Have” Plugins. They are all free.

You don’t need to go to individual websites to download them, simply login to your blog, click plugin, then click add new and put these words in the search box. Then follow the prompts. Very easy to do.

1. Akismet : This helps control spam comments.

2. All in One SEO Pack: This provides the necessary SEO elements to get listed well in the search engines.

3. CommentLuv: This makes your blog Do Follow. See my post here about CommentLuv.

4. DoFollow:  Completes the process to make your blog “Do Follow”.

5. Google XML Sitemaps:  Automatically creates and updates your sitemap.  Make sure that you activate it and also put a link to your sitemap on your blog.

6.  Old Post Promoter (By BTE):  Have you written everything you can on the subject of your blog?  Then it’s time to activate Old Post Promoter.  It will cycle your blog posts making your blog always look fresh.  It’s also great to use if you go on vacation.

7. Post To Twitter:  You should have a twitter account for your blog.  I will post more about how to twitter for your blog on another day.  This plugin is easy to use.  Simply put in your twitter username and password and every time your blog has a new post it will automatically post it to twitter.

8. Tweet Old Post:  This plugin will tweet older posts to Twitter on a regular basis.  I set mine for every 4 hours.  Your Twitter followers will grow doing this and the traffic to your site will too!

9. WordPress Stats:  This will give you stats on your traffic.  I use this and Awstats which is available in your Cpanel.

10.  Secure WordPress:  This helps to secure your blog from hackers.
